George Freeman serves as presiding chaplain and spiritual leader of the Universal Life Church Monastery in Seattle, which is the largest denomination of the internationally networked Universal Life Church (ULC). His Seattle organization believes that people of various faiths have the right to practice their religion freely and ordains clergy from backgrounds as diverse as Shintoism and Paganism. George Freeman also has a core philosophy that “we are all children of the same universe,” and through his organization, he seeks to counter the negative perceptions of some organized religions and forms of spirituality.
Throughout his time as chaplain, Mr. Freeman has successfully overseen the establishment of a number of ULC facilities His professional career extends to an early sales position with New York’s WOR Radio 710 AM and an active career designing and building entertainment venues throughout the United States. Among the notable projects he was involved in were Galaxy 21 in New York and Club Broadway in Seattle. George Freeman has also run for Seattle City Council and in his 1999 campaign presented a coordinated strategy for addressing infrastructure, city operations, and housing and homeless issues.
